An observation exercise: leaf drawing
Leaf drawing
- Find a leaf that speaks to you, and you’d like to sit and work with.
- Get a blank piece of paper and a pencil, or pen.
- Gaze at the leaf, memorise the colours, shape, line, trace the outline with your finger. Close your eyes and see if you can picture it.
- When ready, spend a few minutes drawing it - not to capture it on paper, but to let it emerge through your hands onto paper.
